Work
-
2024.07 - present Independent Researcher (Under Scholarly Mentorship)
Engaged in independent research in environmental toxicology under the scholarly mentorship of Dr. Boobal Rangaswamy, Department of Biotechnology, PSG College of Arts & Science, contributing substantively to the development and authorship of scientific manuscripts intended for peer-reviewed publication.
- Ecotoxicology, Independent Research, Scientific Writing, Manuscript Preparation
-
2024.01 - 2024.05 Dissertation Trainee
CSIR - Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow
Thesis Title: In Vitro Toxicity Assessment of Polystyrene Nanoplastics in Chinese Hamster Lung fibroblast cells (V-79)
A concentration-dependent increase in irregular cell morphology was observed, with decreased cell viability in the Trypan Blue and Comet assays. ROS assay indicated varied response, suggesting alternative toxicity pathways at higher PS NPs exposure.
- Toxicology, Risk assessments, Mammalian cell culture establishment and maintainance, Cytotoxicity assays, Genotoxicity assays
-
2023.07 - 2023.12 Postgraduate Research Assistant
Centre for Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering, Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh.
Project: Microbeads preparation with Bacterial Consortia
The microbeads, synthesised using bacterial consortia that degrade pesticides, facilitate the storage and transport of these consortia for extended periods.
- Microbial Culture Establishment and Maintainance, Microbead preparation and optimisation
-
2023.06 - 2023.07 Summer Research Intern
Centre for Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering, Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh.
Project: Biogenic Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles using Endophytic Bacteria Isolated from Andrographis paniculata and its Potential Applications as Anticancer and Antibacterial Agents
Endophytic bacteria identified as Priestia megaterium were used to synthesize silver nanoparticles, which were characterized by UV-Visible Spectrophotometry, FTIR, and SEM. The nanoparticles showed significant antibacterial activity and reduction in cell viability in the Hep G2 cell line.
- Biogenic synthesis of nanoparticle, Green synthesis, Microbial Culture Establishment and Maintainance, Time kill assay, SEM, FTIR
